Cookies
This page explains what cookies are, which ones this site uses, and how you can accept or reject optional cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help pages remember preferences or understand how the site is used. Some cookies are essential for basic functions; others are optional.
How we use cookies
Oakminster Financial Planning uses essential cookies to remember your cookie consent choice and to keep the site working. With your consent we may also use analytics cookies to see which pages about UK financial advice are most helpful. Rejecting optional cookies does not block access to consultations information, forms, or journal articles.
Cookies table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| oakminster_cookie_consent | Stores whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies | 1 year (localStorage) | Oakminster Financial Planning |
| _oa_session | Essential session continuity for form security tokens where enabled by the host | Session | Oakminster Financial Planning / hosting provider |
| _oa_analytics | Optional aggregated page-view measurement (set only if you Accept) | 6 months | Oakminster Financial Planning |
Managing and disabling cookies
Use Accept or Reject on our cookie banner when it appears. You can also clear site data in your browser settings, which removes the stored consent preference and shows the banner again. Browser controls can block cookies entirely; essential site features such as remembering consent may then reset on each visit.
Third-party cookies
Embedded fonts may be requested from Google Fonts; that request can expose your IP address to Google. We do not load third-party advertising cookies. Image hosts such as Unsplash may set their own cookies when images load; see their policies for details.
Impact of disabling
Rejecting analytics cookies simply means we will not measure aggregated visits. The enquiry form, appointment guide, and consultation pages continue to work.
